Justin Kalena has been chosen as the junior student of the month for October.
Kalena, who has excellent work ethic, enjoys and excels in history. He credits Mrs. Harris for his advancement and has embraced her kinesthetic teaching style, which improves the experience.
Kalena also attends many Slater community events. He watches home football and basketball games, pep rallies, participates in fundraisers, and attends all the in-school events as well. In his spare time he likes to play basketball and soccer as well as listen to rap and EDM.
“It’s an honor to be chosen for student of the month and I’m glad and even proud that the teachers here at this school felt that I was a really good student and feel that I deserve such an award,” Kalena said.
