The Slater cheerleaders finished an impressive third place in the game day division at the Colonial League Championship on November 9. Competing against other schools in the area, the Slaters brought their best routines to the floor.

“There was so much adrenaline rushing through all of us. We just forgot about everything else when we were on that mat and really focused on what we were doing,” junior Trinity Pongracz said. “Our only worry was doing well with what we had been practicing and working for during practices.”

In order to take their game day routine to a winning level, the Lady Slaters incorporated a band dance, a cheer, a chant, and a fight song all into one.

“My favorite part of our routine was performing ‘Mickey’. It was the first portion of our game day routine, full of energy and smiles from both our team and the fans,” junior Olivia O’Shaughnessy said.

Ultimately placing third, the dedicated Slaters will cherish the fond memories they built together over the past season.

“It was a different experience for me since I hadn’t gone to a competition before. I believe we worked super hard this season, and I had a lot of fun going out with the girls and showing that we are one of the best squads in the Colonial League,” junior Emily LaBar said.

Filled with pep and pride, the cheerleaders are sure to bring as much energy and enthusiasm to the Slater Nation crowd this winter during wrestling and basketball season.
