NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY GIVES BACK TO THE COMMUNITY
December 20, 2017
Attention Bangor High School, National Honor Society is currently participating in the blanket drive to support homeless veterans and give back to the community.
Throughout the drive, students gather various types of blankets and quilts of any size, though sheets and comforters are not recommended. Covers, should be placed in the collection bin by guidance or brought to Mr. Weaver in room 210.
National Honor Society will collect on December 21 and January 15. Thus far, the club has collected 30 blankets to give to the homeless veterans.
Once the drive is over, blankets will be transported to the shelters by the Local Legion Post. This organization turns blankets into sleeping bags and delivers them to veterans for warmth during the winter season.
“This fundraiser greatly helps the homeless veterans in the community who have greatly given to our country and are suffering homelessness. It’s our turn to give back,” junior Akash Sareen said.
Be sure to bring in blankets and quilts in order to give back and support this charitable event.
