Senior Eddie Hay earned his 100th career win against the Wilson Warriors in the Bangor Slater Wrestler’s first home match of the season.

Hay, a 2016 state-qualifier, is now the 3rd wrestler in Bangor History to achieve this milestone. He proudly stands behind 2015 graduate Charlie Sell and 2009 graduate and MMA Fighter Scott Heckman.

Hay won his match up at 160 lbs. against opponent Beau Lantosh with a pin in the first period.

At 8-0 to start the season, Hay is hoping to continue this success into the off season once again with a trip to States.

“I was honored to achieve 100 wins, it was nice to see all of my effort into the sport begin to pay off,” Hay said. “The success came from a combination of doing a lot of summer wrestling, wrestling all four years of high school, and being able to stay healthy through it all.”

Hay has had his teammates, coaches, and family right behind him for support throughout this long journey in high school.

Though Bangor fell to Wilson in this tough match 44-27, the team looks forward to facing Wilson again in leagues later this season. The Slaters hope to come back stronger than before and with a full line up the second time around.
