KIEFER-NOGUREOL A MAN OF MANY TALENTS

Whether he is plowing the fields, trekking through the woods, or sketching to pass the time, senior Bryce Kiefer-Nogureol surpasses his peers with his abundance of talents.

Kiefer-Noguerol’s gift for art was discovered when he was 4 years old and has since bloomed into one of his many passions.

“Things I see on a day to day basis inspire me to draw,” Kiefer-Noguerol said. “I usually keep my art to myself but teachers and other people have displayed it for me in the past.”

When Kiefer-Noguerol was in sixth grade he designed the Medieval Times shirts for his class’s field trip and created the Bangor vs. Pen Argyl rivalry shirts his junior year of high school.

Although Kiefer-Noguerol excels at art, it will remain as one of his hobbies.

Like many Bangor High School students, Kiefer-Noguerol splits his time between Bangor High and CIT. There, he has studied masonry for four years.

“Masonry is trade working with brick, black stone, and mortar reinforcements. Masonry is used to build walls and other sturdy structures,” Kiefer-Noguerol said. “I like working with my hands and will be able to build my own house or any structures on the farm or help friends and family if they would like something done on their home.”

Kiefer-Noguerol’s masonry knowledge helps him as he works on his family’s 2,500-acre farm.

“The farm is owned by my Great-Grandfather, Arlington Kiefer. We have about 175 steers, horses, corn, beans, wheat, and alfalfa,” Kiefer-Noguerol said.

Spending approximately 35 hours a week on his farm, Kiefer-Noguerol can’t seem to get enough of the farming lifestyle.

“I like the two main growing seasons and harvest time. It’s just a lot of fun and hard work and it feels good when it’s all over,” Kiefer-Noguerol said. “It’s what I want to do for the rest of my life, it’s destiny pretty much. I love working on the farm even if some days are super tough, and I love being outside; everybody is just so different on the farm.”

The world of hunting and fishing was introduced to Kiefer-Noguerol through his love for the outdoors.

“Hunting and fishing are both evenly matched, I don’t think I could pick a favorite. They’re both really fun come certain times of the year,” Kiefer-Noguerol said.

During hunting season, Kiefer-Noguerol focuses on deer, waterfowl, turkey, fox, and coyotes.

“I love just being out there, enjoying the views, people’s smiles, and what the country has to offer,” Kiefer-Noguerol said.

When fly fishing for Brown Trout, Kiefer-Noguerol spends his time in the streams of Pennsylvania.

“It’s great just being myself out there, enjoying it no matter the size of the fish. You get great exercise walking miles on miles on a never-ending stream, just never knowing what’s going to come around the next pool or bend,” Kiefer-Noguerol said.

In between school, work, hunting, fishing, and art, Kiefer-Nogureol also spends time with his girlfriend of over three years, Alyson Kiss.

“I love Alyson’s dedication to everything she does; whether it be school, sports, or her future career,” Kiefer-Noguerol said. “She continues to put a smile on my face each and every day.”

As Kiefer-Noguerol’s senior year comes to a close, he is more than prepared for his future thanks to his extensive background in masonry and farming.
