EAGLES FANS TAKE TO THE STREETS OF PHILLY

Philadelphia Eagles super fans Hunter Kish and Brandon Harrison spent their snow day in the streets of Philadelphia to celebrate the Eagles Super Bowl win on Thursday, February 7.

Leaving their houses at 5:30 a.m., Kish and Harrison were determined to get front row seats to see their heroes on their victory tour.

“We took the SEPTA (Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority) into the city with the millions of other people that were there, and then stood in the cold for a long time to see the buses with the players on it and hear all of the speeches,” Harrison said.

The pair then fought their way through hordes of rowdy—yet loyal—fans to find the perfect spot to enjoy the parade.

“We started off in the back of the crowd but Hunter led the way up to the front of the pack to get closer to the stage,” Harrison said. “We were like 400 yards away from the stage.”

Waiting in the freezing cold for hours was a daunting task, but luckily for Kish and Harrison, Eagles fans can be quite entertaining.

“There were like 3 million passionate Eagles fans and it was crazy. People were chanting and cheering and screaming the Eagles fights song,” Kish said. “We just tried to avoid the people trying to climb the poles.”

After several painstaking hours, the victory float was finally in their sight, making the whole ordeal worth the wait.

“The Eagles players were on a float throwing footballs and cheering with the crowd. It was really cool to be able to see them in person. Then we got to see them give their speech up on the museum steps,” Kish said.

Being able to celebrate the Eagles’ first Super Bowl win will be something that Kish and Harrison will never forget.

“It was definitely a once in a lifetime experience for me because I will probably never experience that again,” Harrison said.
