PROM FOR UNDER $100
April 9, 2018
I know what you’re thinking, “prom for under a hundred bucks? Impossible – unless I want to look like a dollar store beauty queen” but you’re wrong. There are hundreds of stores, and websites dedicated to designer looks on a not so designer budget.
The main meal, the star of the show… the dress! www.renttherunway.com (or get the Rent the Runway app)
Rent the Runway is a clothing rental site that features casual to formal clothes starting at just $30.The way RTR works is you sign up, find your perfect dress, and then rent the dress anywhere from 4 to 8 days.
To find the perfect prom dress, go to the top left corner on the website, scroll down to “what to wear” (give the tab a click) and then hit the prom button. Once you do that, all the prom dresses the website offers will appear. Narrow down your search, pick a size, rental period, a price range and a color/style (listed under the refine tab) and let the dress hunt begin. Once you say yes to the dress, fill out the information listed under the chosen gown (click the picture of the dress) and then hit “add to bag” and then proceed to check out, where you will once again have to fill out basic information.
BONUS! Each outfit is granted free returns and you are even sent a free back up size just in case.
The perfect dress MUST be accompanied by the perfect pair of shoes. Visit your local Payless to find a cute pair of shoes for as low as $10.00!
Payless is just like any other shoe store, EXCEPT the prices are so low even Dollar General is challenged.
Walk into the magical shoe kingdom and begin your search for your own glass slippers. The normal store set up is sneakers on the back left and heels on the far right, going in order of size (small to large – small up front, large at the end of the row). Payless features everything from American Eagle strappy sandals to Christian Siriano platform pumps, all at pocket friendly prices

Shoes will cost about $15 – total spending now $65 ($35 left).
Accessories will run you about $10, leaving you with $25.left and $75 spent, keeping you under your budget and still looking stunning!
