MADDIE HESS: MOST LIKELY TO LIVE ON AN ISLAND
May 29, 2018
Adventurous and outgoing Maddie Hess, known for her love for traveling and trying new things, will attend Bloomsburg University to major in digital forensics.
Who will you remember most in Bangor and why?
I won’t remember anyone specific, just all the people that I have made friendships with over the years and the people who helped me get through.
What is your best high school memory and why?
My best high school memory is when we beat Pen Argyl my senior year and running on the field. It was a very happy and exciting moment for everyone.
Which band could play the soundtrack to your high school career and why?
The Jonas brothers because the Jonas Brothers are the only ones I would want to play the soundtrack to my high school career.
If there were a movie made about your high school days, which actor would play your part and why?
Lindsey Lohan before she went crazy because everyone says I look like her (I don’t see it).
When you arrive at school in the morning, where is the first place you want to go and why?
Literally anywhere else but school because I do not like coming to this school every day and doing the same exact routine.
Who influenced you most during high school and why?
My dad did because he was going through college at the same time and always motivated me to try my best.
Where do you predict you’ll end up ten years from now and why?
Hopefully I’ll end up far away from Bangor, maybe Florida, with a family and a degree in digital forensics.
Which event(s) will you miss the most and why?
I will miss going to prom and all the dances because it’s fun getting all dressed up and having fun for the night.
What is your favorite quote to live by and why?
“Everything happens for a reason” because truly everything, good or bad, has brought me to the moment I’m at right now and has made me the person I am today. I have learned from the bad and have become better from the good. Everything truly does happen for a certain reason.
If you had to live on an island, which would it be and why?
I would live in Bora Bora because it is beautiful there. It also seems very relaxing and stress free, but I would be content living on any island.
Do you have a specific number of places you would like to travel to? If so, how many and where?
I have been to over a dozen of places outside and inside of the country so there’s not a specific number of places. As of right now I would like to go to Thailand, Greece, Africa, the Philippines, and Costa Rica.
What was your stand out/most memorable vacation and why?
My most memorable vacation was when I toured Europe for 13 days. We went to France, Italy, and Spain, ate a ton of good food, and saw many famous and beautiful landmarks.
What do you enjoy most about traveling and why?
I enjoy seeing other people’s ways of living and exploring new things. Traveling overall puts me in a happier and more relaxed mindset and gets me away from the otherwise boring and stressful life of being in Bangor.
Do you ever learn anything new when traveling or meet new people? If so, what?
I learn many new things while traveling. I have tried many new foods and have gone out of my comfort zone and have done some incredible excursions like cliff jumped in Bermuda, swam with sea turtles in Grand Cayman and climbed a water fall in Jamaica. I have also met many people from around the world and still talk to some of them to this day. It’s so fun meeting new people and learning their way of living and seeing how different my life is from theirs.
What’s your favorite form of traveling and why?
I enjoy flying and cruising the best. I think if you must fly or cruise to get somewhere it is more of an experience. Also, almost all the places I have gone I have had to either fly or cruise to because most were islands.
