SENIOR BUCKET LIST

Meagan Hoffman, Editor-in-Chief

As the second semester of the 2018-19 school year commences, the senior class is already experiencing the symptoms of the inevitable disease, Senioritis.

Well hold on seniors, before rushing out of this comfortable time in life, try to check off these items from your senior bucket list.

ATTEND A SLATER BASKETBALL GAME

“The best way to spread Slater cheer is screaming loud for all to hear.”

While this quote might be cheesy in the famous Christmas movie Elf, it serves as a real motto for all Slater students who come out to support the team. Squeezing into the packed Quarry Crew inside the Bill Pensyl Gymnasium brings an intense sense of community. Each game is assigned a theme (Black Out, America Night, Maroon Monsoon), creating a visualization of student unification within the bleachers.

When all students are jumping around and screaming at the top of their lungs during the Slater Express, a warmth in all Slater hearts grows.

FEAST AT WING NIGHT

Feast with your Bangor besties at Detzi’s Tavern every Wednesday for their town-famous chicken wings. With a variety of flavors ranging from mild to hot, saucy to dry, Detzi’s crispy and crunchy wings will satisfy your hunger every week. Along with the delicious flavors they have to offer, dining with a group of friends is always fulfilling.

A Bangor tradition, enjoy wing night before heading off into the real world (where there are probably fewer yummy chicken wings.)

SING YOUR HEART OUT AT THE MUSICAL

This year, the Bangor High School musical is (my) family favorite Mamma Mia! On Mar 29, 30, 31, head to the Craig Payne Theater to support and cheer on your fellow classmates as they showcase pure entertainment and raw talent for the entire Slater community.

Watching friends and fellow Slaters perform on stage is a heartwarming feeling, and is a fun way to support the high school. Don’t miss out on this impressive sing-along show.

*Actually, a quick note from my editor, Mr. DiMinico probably doesn’t want you, me, or anyone but his cast to sing during the show.

DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY AT PROM

As the most highly anticipated event of the year for upperclassmen, prom is often the fondest memory of high school. Whether you choose to go with a group of friends or land yourself a date, prom is thrilling for all attendees.

Dressing to the nines and showing off your best look of the year is a confidence booster and makes for great pictures. Once settled at the beautiful venue of the Steel Stacks in Bethlehem, a rather appetizing buffet is opened for all.

Finally, show off your best dance moves on the dance floor surrounded by all of your classmates. Prom is a fun-filled night where all will make memories that last forever.

Buy a yearbook, which documents all the fun you have had.

While graduation is nearing day by day and the excitement continues to build, hit the pause button and take some time to enjoy these final 90 days by participating in these favorite Slater events.
