The highly-involved and extremely talented Gülnur Avci will continue her successful career at Columbia University. There, she will major in Electrical Engineering in hopes of one day working for a major tech company.

What career do you hope to attain? 
I want to be an engineer at a major tech company and run my own company that finds tech based solutions to the world’s problems.   
 

What do you hope people will remember about you after high school is over? 

 How awesome I am at rapping.

Who will you remember most in Bangor and why? 
Mr. Hobbs because I like his sense of humor.  

 
Which band could play the soundtrack to your high school career and why? 
Ceza, the turkish rapper because he is amazing. He speaks facts and only facts. He talks about the righteousness and integrity that I tried my best to keep in my high school career and hope to keep for the rest of my life.  

  
When you arrive at school in the morning, where is the first place you want to go and why? 
Back home because school is too early. 
 

Who influenced you most during high school? Why and how? Give them a shoutout! 
Mr. Madden because he taught me the importance of the skill of writing. The passion he has for modes of communication (movies, books, articles, etc.) has made me think twice of the implications it has in the scientific and societal impact.  
 

Where do you hope to end up 10 years from now and why? 
Co-founder or founder of a business (that is beneficial to humanity and not harmful in any way) that is valued at $5 million and growing.  
 

Which event, events will you miss the most and why? 
My TSA State conferences, because you get to present and compete with your projects you have been working on for months. It’s 4-days away from school and always a good time with my teammates. 
 

What is your favorite quote to live by and why is it important to you? 
“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.”
 

If you could present any product on Shark Tank what would it be and why? 
The PyroSleeve. Obviously. It’s so amazing that if it went on Shark Tank, we would definitely get investments.
 
Which investor would you hope to impress on Shark Tank? 
Mark Cuban because anyone who likes basketball must have good taste.
 
How do you hope your product Pyronix will make an impact on the world? 
I hope that it acts as a springboard for me to learn about both the technology and commerce industries, and provides our team with monetary resources to create even more products.
 
Who is someone you look up to in the business world? Why? 
Elon Musk because he is such a forward-looking, innovative, and humorous person. He uses his success to further technology and space travel. I look up to him in that I want to be that excited about using my STEM knowledge to bring the field forward.
 
What is your favorite product from Shark Tank? Why?
Jimmy Kimmel and Guillermo’s horse pants. I know it’s a good product because it made me want to buy a horse just to buy the pants.
