2018-2019–EVAN PARSONS: WILL HAVE THE MOST INTERESTING CAREER

Allison Reed, Editor

Senior Evan Parsons plans to put the “fun” in funeral as he will attend Northampton Community College in the fall for a major in mortuary science. Parsons will use his education to follow in his parents’ footsteps and become a funeral director.

What do you hope people will remember about you after high school is over?

I will remember the work I put into theater and my comedic side.

Who will you remember most in Bangor and why?

Claudia and Kamila Kaminski have always been there for me and they are my best friends through high school.

What is your best high school memory and why?

I was taken out of my comfort zone by the musicals and I won’t ever forget that.

What is your worst high school memory and why?

Getting lots of bloody noses in the nurse’s office because of the dry air outside.

Which band could play the soundtrack to your high school career and why?

The 1975 would be my soundtrack because their self-titled album is mostly about teenage angst.

If there were a movie made about your high school days, which actor would play your part and why?

I would play the main part because it would show how I really was throughout high school.

When you arrive at school in the morning, where is the first place you want to go and why?

I want to go to the choir room because throughout high school that was my favorite place.

Who influenced you most during high school? Why and how? Give them a shoutout!

Mr. Di Minico influenced me the most because he helped me get over my anxiety and pushed me to do stuff that’s out of my comfort zone.

Where do you hope to end up 10 years from now and why?

I hope to be working in my family’s funeral business 10 years from now.

Which event, events will you miss the most and why?

Mostly I will miss the musical because it’s where I’ve had the most fun and made lots of friends.

What is your favorite quote to live by and why is it important to you?

“The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.” – Walt Disney. I enjoy this quote because it encourages me to achieve my dreams, telling me that I just need to start doing it and stop talking about it.

How will your current job prepare you for your future career?

My job shows me how hard my dad has worked to be where he is, and he’s helping me become a funeral director.

Will you continue pursuing music through college through various choirs or musicals?

I love music but I don’t think I’ll continue with it- but you never know.

Have you had encounters with ghosts while working? What happened?

I have not, sadly.

What is the most strenuous part of being a funeral director?

Making sure people are always happy.

How will you overcome your fear of driving on the highway?

Well, that will be hard but I’ll have to drive to Northampton Community College almost every day so I hope to get over it.
