SLATER SPOTLIGHT: HAILEY HOTCHKIN

Passionate and determined field hockey player Hailey Hotchkin plans to further her education at the University of Delaware. There, she will major in political science with the dream of becoming a successful lawyer.

What sports, clubs, organizations, jobs do you have an what are your positions in each of these activities?

Field hockey and Spanish Honor Society.

Which friend or friends will you miss most from Bangor and why?

I’ll miss everyone but I’ll for sure miss the field hockey team the most. Those girls are like sisters to me.

Which teacher influenced you most or who will you remember most from Bangor and why?

Mrs. Harris definitely influenced me the most. She’s kinda the reason I realized what I wanted to major in.

What is your best high school memory and why?

Winning the district championship my senior year was the best experience I could have asked for in high school.

What is your worst high school memory and why?

Taking AP Spanish was a bad time. Not that the class was bad, just extremely hard.

Which band could play the soundtrack to your high school career and why?

SZA. Her music is really laid back and chill but still meaningful.

If there were a movie made about your high school days, which actor would play your part and why?

Blake Lively, not because we look alike whatsoever, but because she’s really cool.

Where do you predict you’ll end up ten years from now and why?

In ten years I hope to have a good job as a lawyer and a big home.

Which event, events will you miss the most and why?

I’ll miss building the bonfire for the 100th game the most. It was an eventful day bonding with my class.

What is your favorite quote to live by and why?

“If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you.” I just have always thought of that during difficult situations.

Who do you look up to in life, and why?

My parents are my biggest role models. I hope to develop the work ethic that they both have.

What fear have you overcame throughout high school?

I used to be super afraid of making mistakes but high school made that really easy to get over.

If you could relate your high school experience to any movie, what would it be?

To a tee, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
