SLATER SPOTLIGHT: MADDIE MINNER

After a great high school career, Lady Slaters basketball player Madeline Minner will take her talent to Northampton Community College. Leaving basketball behind, Minner plans to major in criminal justice and pursue a job in that field.

What three adjectives would your friends use to describe you?

Funny, trustworthy, outgoing

What sports, clubs, organizations, jobs do you have an what are your positions in each of these activities?

Girls Basketball (shooting guard), Yearbook Club (page design)

Which friend or friends will you miss most from Bangor and why?

I will miss Megan, John, Ventura, Brayden, Faith, Logan, and countless others. They gave me the best high school experience.

Which teacher influenced you most or who will you remember most from Bangor and why?

I will remember Mr. Thomas the most because he was fun to be around, and he taught concepts in an interactive way.

What is your best high school memory and why?

Joining the basketball team freshmen year because I ended up sticking with it through senior year.

What is your worst high school memory and why?

Not getting the chance to have an official graduation ceremony.

Which band could play the soundtrack to your high school career and why?

Spongebob Band Geeks > Sweet Sweet Victory at the Bubble Bowl. I would say that my high school career was a success.

When you arrive at school in the morning, where is the first place you want to go and why?

I went to homeroom first so I could take a 5 minute power nap on the desk.

Where do you predict you’ll end up ten years from now and why?

I think I will be working in the career that I go to college for. Maybe I’ll be married but probably with no children.

Which event, events will you miss the most and why?

I will miss the musicals because my family and I enjoyed supporting the program. I will also miss athletic events because it feels good to be playing for your school in front of the crowd.

What is your favorite quote to live by and why?

“I knew exactly what to do. But in a much more real sense, I had no idea what to do.” – Michael Scott

Who is your all time favorite athlete and why?

LeBron James is my favorite athlete. He is a great leader on the court and an even better one off the court. He is inspiring to watch play, and how he impacts others.

What goes through your mind when on the court?

I just want to win. I want my teammates to succeed as much as I want myself to. I try to never be selfish and always make decisions that are good for everybody.

If you could play for any team in the world what team would you play for?

I would play for the 2016 UCONN Women’s Basketball team. They were led by great players and an even better coach.
