Slater softball 2022, led by seniors Lexi Bussenger, Sydnee Cook, Brooke Edwards, Jenna Fey, and Paulina Poels, and head coach Pat Howarth began their season with goals of keeping the legacy of Slater softball alive. After losing seven of their nine starters from last season to graduation, the Slaters looked to establish new team chemistry and develop winning habits.
WHEELS! Jayleigh Figurski helps the Slaters by covering a lot of ground in the outfield and keeping runners from advancing. Figurski takes charge playing Center field and communicating with her fellow outfielders. (Christmas City Studio)
SAFE! Senior Lexi Bussenger steals on a passed ball against Wilson which helped the Slaters get in scoring position. Lexi Bussenger has been very aggressive on the bases to start the 2022 season. (Christmas City Studio)
OUT! Kristina Langdon makes an outstanding play at shortstop, getting the Slaters out of a tough inning against southern Lehigh. Langdon will continue her softball career as a Great Dane at Albany in fall of 2023. (Christmas City Studio)
DINGER! Jenna Fey hit a two-run home run against Wilson, scoring Mikaela Caprood and herself making the score 8 to 1 in the 3rd inning. Fey has been a strong bat for the Slaters so far in the 2022 season. Fey will play for the Scranton Royals next fall. (Christmas City Studio)
STRIKE! Sophomore Jaelyn Silfies starts off strong helping the Slaters defend against Southern Lehigh. Silfies is the starting pitcher for the Bangor Slaters. (Christmas City Studio)
