Madison Collins: Most likely to read a book a day

Madison Collins is a very involved Slater that loves to be on the Envirothon team. Collins plans to attend Temple University to pursue a degree in management information systems.

What is your best high school memory and why?

My best memory would be getting to go to States for Envirothon two years in a row.

What is your worst high school memory and why?

My worst moment in high school was researching White Nose Syndrome and realizing that Pennsylvania’s bat population has been decimated.

Which band could play the soundtrack to your high school career and why?

Instead of a band I would rather just have the Iron Chef theme song and have Alton Brown narrate everything I do.

Where do you predict yourself to be in 10 years and why? 

I would assume working in the MIS field and hopefully being a part time park ranger on the side.

What kind of books do you read and why? 

I like historical fiction because I find it an interesting genre.

Do you have a favorite author, who is it?

Sarah J. Maas, she writes some really good books.

What do you think you are known for?

I would assume, based on the title of this article, reading a book a day.

What have you learned from Bangor that will help you in college and why?

Anything that I’ve ever learned in an AP class because now I can skip all my gen-eds in college. Also I’ve learned how to be a much more confident presenter.

Who will you remember most in Bangor?

I will probably remember most all of the really great teachers I’ve had.

Which events, events will you miss the most and why? 

I will miss Envirothon Competitions and Scholastic Scrimmage competitions the most.

How often do you read and why?

           I read pretty often because I’d be bored if I didn’t.

Do you usually like the book or movie better?

I usually like the book better.

Would you ever write a book?

I would definitely never write a book.

How involved do you get into a story you read?

It depends on the quality of the book, but usually pretty involved.

When where do you read? 

I don’t have a preferred location or time.
