Cheerful, positive, future influencer Courtney Spence is a senior and plans to get her bachelor’s in PR and communications at ESU. She has been an outgoing student here at Bangor with participation in the musical, bowling club, and The Slater Yearbook.
What are your favorite classes? What was it about these classes that thrilled you?
Mr. Hunt’s English class. I’ve had him two times now and it was always my favorite part of my day. Mr. Hunt was funny and interactive. We worked on video projects, posters, and presentations which were always fun. Global Studies with Miss Gunn was also one of my favorites because I could talk with my friends while still learning about interesting events that occurred in the world.
What are your plans after high school (college, military, career path, etc.)? What do you hope to study? What career(s) appeal to you? Why?
I’m going to ESU for a Bachelor’s in PR and communications. I would love to use this degree to become a famous influencer on all platforms, (Tiktok, YouTube, Instagram). I want to be an influencer because I want to make a change in the world by being positive and making an impact on those in and outside my community.
Describe, in detail, your ideal life 10 years from now.
In 10 years, I plan on having a husband and being able to fully support my family financially (because I will be influencer-rich). I would love to live in Maine in a big modern farmhouse and possibly start my family. I want a golden retriever named Buford and my dream car is a black two-door Jeep Wrangler. I would love to be included in the Tart Bora Bora brand trip and be in an Old Navy Campaign.
What is your best high school memory and why?
My favorite high school memory has to be the time I dressed up as Trisha Paytas for a senior look-alike picture. I had a great time giving out autographs and walking around the school acting as her. #checkoutmytiktok
If there were a movie made about your high school days, what would be the title, and which actor would play your part? Why?
“Seniorities Came Too Early” 🙁
Trisha Paytus would play my part because we’re literally twins and we’re both amazing.
Which event/events will you miss the most and why?
I will miss the musical the most because I built a strong bond with the cast and crew members over those few months of rehearsal, and I’ll be sad to leave.
Which artist could play the soundtrack to your high school career and why?
Tyler The Creator would play the soundtrack to my high school career because he is a fun outgoing artist and I think his music relates to my experience in high school. His energy is always high and his music sounds like a good time.
What is your favorite quote to live by and why?
My favorite quote is “Live. Laugh. Love.” because it’s simple, but it still holds a lot of meaning. Live life to the fullest, laugh all day, and love everybody. I say this all the time to remind myself and others to be happy!
Who will you remember most in Bangor and why?
I will remember Delaney because she dressed me up as Trisha Paytus which is a moment I will never forget. She always makes me laugh and brings the energy which is nice to have during the school day.
Who is your biggest mentor (shoutout a teacher/coach)? Why?
Miss Gunn is my biggest mentor because I always feel comfortable talking to her. She is very encouraging and tells me to follow my dreams and pushes me to complete my goals. She is also just fun to be around, we have fun laughing, ranting, and talking about my future.
What activities (sports, clubs, jobs) have you done throughout your high school career?
I have been on stage crew in the musical, bowling, and The Slater Yearbook.
Which of these activities is your favorite and why? What was/is your position in the activity? Why did this activity matter to you so much? List any accomplishments. (Feel free to answer with more than one activity; please specify)
The musical is my favorite because it’s an overall fun production and I miss it when it’s over. I have been in costumes and this year I’m costume manager. It matters to me because I love fashion and it’s fun to design people’s wardrobes.
