Fun, creative, and accountable senior Tyler Scheer will be attending Mount Alyosha to gain a business management degree so he can live his dream as a business owner. He has been an outgoing student here at Bangor with participation in football, baseball, golf, and Student Government.
What are your favorite classes? What was it about these classes that thrilled you?
All classes with Mr. Crisp, which were graphic design. I liked editing all the pictures and videos; it was like art but through software, which was cool. Everything that was done was based on skill and graded through that instead of meeting certain standards.
What are some positive adjectives that your friends would use to describe you?
Fun because I can make a boring situation into a better one. Creative because I tend to produce unique ideas when I need to. Accountable if it is significant enough you can count on me being there.
What are your plans after high school (college, military, career path, etc.)? What do you hope to study? What career(s) appeal to you? Why?
I’m planning on getting a master’s in business administration. I want to continue doing golf in college as well. To start with, I want to collaborate with a firm and then eventually grow and make my own business, specifically in marketing.
Describe, in detail, your ideal life 10 years from now.
I want to be financially free, with a family of my own. I see myself living on the shore in North Carolina. I want to complete my bachelor’s degree in business administration and a minor in marketing. With a goal of still having my own business.
What is your best high school memory and why?
When I shot my best at Green Pond for golf, which was three over par. It’s a most memorable moment because only 2% of golfers break eighty. It was a good last match for me of the season.
If there were a movie made about your high school days, which actor would play your part? Why?
I think Christian Bale did a great job playing ‘Batman’ because he was really cool, calm, and collected. His portrayal of the character showed how he could handle tough situations without freaking out, which is why I think he can easily play my part if I were a movie.
Which event/events will you miss the most and why?
I don’t have a particular favorite event, but if I had to choose, it would be the bonfire. The reason being, I actively engaged in it through my involvement in student government. During the event, I had the opportunity to assist with a carnival game that I thought was kinda rigged, but that added an extra layer of excitement and fun to see who’d win.
Which artist could play the soundtrack to your high school career and why?
Ken Carson is truly one-of-a-kind, unlike any other artist out there. His uniqueness is what sets him apart and makes him so inspiring. One of my favorite tracks by him is ‘Look Book’ because it’s not only tough but also has an exquisite quality to it that resonates with me. I find that Ken Carson’s music keeps me engaged and energized, especially during school days to keep me motivated.
What is your favorite quote to live by and why?
This quote, ‘I fight my depression with my fashion habits’ by Ken Carson, is my favorite. It means a lot to me because it shows how dressing up can help someone feel better when they’re dealing with their problems. For me, it’s like saying that what I wear can make me feel stronger and happier, even when things are tough. Ken Carson’s words encourage me to use fashion to take care of myself and feel more confident.
Who will you remember most in Bangor and why?
The person I will remember the most is David Saunders. He’s got a cool style, and I really enjoy listening to him play the clarinet. His dad’s accent is neat too, adding something special to our conversations. I also want to give a big shoutout to Kamal Crockett for being so inspiring and helping me out with these questions. It’s important to recognize and appreciate the support we get from others.
Who is your biggest mentor (shoutout a teacher/coach)? Why?
The person who’s had the biggest influence on me is Mr. Wilson. He’s not only my golf coach but also someone I look up to for advice and support. With his help, I’ve learned to stay calm and focused, not just during golf games, but also in other tough situations. I’m thankful for all the guidance he’s given me.
What activities (sports, clubs, jobs) have you done throughout your high school career?
I’ve played football, golf, basketball, and baseball, and I’m also involved in student government. Out of all the sports I’ve tried, golf is my favorite because it’s so different from the others. I love the concentration and strategy it requires, and how it challenges me both physically and mentally.
Which of these activities is your favorite and why? What was/is your position in the activity? Why did this activity matter to you so much? List any accomplishments.
I used to be a quarterback in football, but I had to stop after injuring my back. In baseball, I played second baseman; in basketball, I was a small forward. But golf is what really matters to me. I’ve been recognized for my hard work and improvement in golf, earning awards like Most Improved Player and MVP, which has only made me love the game even more.
