What are your favorite classes? What was it about these classes that thrilled you?
My favorite class has got to be AP Psychology; it’s seriously fascinating. I love diving into how our minds work and why we do the things we do. Learning about all the different theories and real-life examples, plus discussing everything with my classmates who are just as into it as I am, is awesome.
What are some positive adjectives that your friends would use to describe you?
My friends would say I’m funny because we’re always joking and playing games together. We keep each other laughing all the time. I would also say I’m responsible because I make sure I stay on track with everything I need to do. Whether it’s schoolwork or planning out my extracurricular activities, I’m always keeping things organized and running smoothly.
What are your plans after high school (college, military, career path, etc.)? What do you hope to study? What career(s) appeal to you? Why?
After high school, I’m heading to West Chester University to study psychology. I’m eager to learn more about why we do what we do. As for what I want to do after college, I’m thinking about having the opportunity to get a job as a counselor. No matter which path I choose, I’m excited to use what I learn in psychology to help people.
Describe, in detail, your ideal life 10 years from now.
In 10 years, I imagine myself being successful. I want to become a counselor. I see myself working with someone experienced, learning a lot from them along the way. Outside of work, I hope to have a happy personal life. Maybe I’ll have a family or just close friends. Either way, I want to be surrounded by people who make me happy and support me.
What is your best high school memory and why?
My favorite high school memory must be when our marching band went to Hershey. It was such a blast. Not only did we do well in the competition, but the whole trip was just so much fun. From practicing hard before the event to the thrill of performing and then celebrating our success afterward, it was an unforgettable experience. Another awesome memory is all the time I spent with the color guard. Being part of that team has been incredible. I’ve seen myself improve so much over the years. Plus, the friendships I’ve made and the memories we’ve shared are priceless.
If there were a movie made about your high school days, what would be the title and which actor would play your part? Why?
If there was a movie about my high school days, it would be called “Roller Coaster of Emotions.” High school is such a whirlwind of experiences that you deal with so much, from the ups and downs of friendships and relationships to the pressure of school and figuring out who you are. As for who would play my part, I think Amanda Bynes would be a perfect fit. She’s not only a talented actress, but she’s also funny. I think she could capture the core of my experiences perfectly. Plus, she has that relatable charm that would make the character feel real and authentic.
Which event/events will you miss the most and why?
What I’ll miss the most from high school are the marching band competitions. They were the best, not only because it was super fun, but they were also a chance to hang out with my friends and show off all our hard work. Being in the marching band meant everything to me. It wasn’t just about playing music and performing, it was like being part of a big family. We had the best times together, laughing and cheering each other on during competitions. Marching band brought us closer than ever, and those memories will always be special to me.
Which artist could play the soundtrack to your high school career and why?
If I had to pick someone to make the soundtrack for my high school days, it’d be Taylor Swift. Her songs are just so relatable, whether it’s about love or just life in general, her music always hits the spot. I feel like her songs capture all the ups and downs of high schoolers in the outside world perfectly. They bring back memories of hanging out with friends, and all the other crazy stuff that happens during those years. Also, growing up with her music just makes it even more relatable than it already is.
What is your favorite quote to live by and why?
My favorite quote to live by is “Do-Nut worry” by Courtney Spence. It might seem simple but let me tell you why it’s so great. Courtney is someone I look up to because she’s always positive and full of wisdom. When she says “Do-Nut worry,” she reminds us that things will be okay, even when they seem tough. It’s a fun way of saying not to stress out too much and to find the good in every situation. Plus, it’s a good reminder to enjoy the little things in life which is why it’s my favorite quote because it’s all about staying positive and finding joy in everyday moments.
Who will you remember most in Bangor and why?
In Bangor, there’s one person who means the world to me, and that’s Jordyn Baugh. We’ve been best friends since seventh grade, and our bond is strong. We’ve shared so many memories together, from silly jokes to deep talks about life. No matter what, Jordyn always been there for me, and I know I can count on her for anything. What makes our friendship so special is how well we understand each other. It’s like we have our own secret language. She knows me better than anyone else, and I’m grateful to have them in my life as my best friend.
Who is your biggest mentor (shoutout a teacher/coach)? Why?
When it comes to mentors, my mom is my go-to person. She’s always been there for me, no matter what, and I can count on her for anything. Whenever I need advice or just someone to talk to, my mom is there with open arms. She’s like my own personal cheerleader, always encouraging me to do my best and never give up. And you know what they say, “moms are always right” so I know I can trust her guidance.
What activities (sports, clubs, jobs) have you done throughout your high school career?
I have been part of the Stage Crew since freshman year, and I joined marching band during my sophomore year. I also participated in PRISM (GSA) and the Ecology Club during my sophomore year. Outside of school, I dedicated my extra time to Girl Scouts. Additionally, I’ve been employed at McDonald’s for two years, and currently, I work at Richmond Farm & Brewery.
Which of these activities is your favorite and why? What was/is your position in the activity? Why did this activity matter to you so much? List any accomplishments.
My favorite activity in high school was marching band. I just loved it so much and I also made some great friends through it. Being the color guard captain for two years was awesome too. I liked being in charge and helping my teammates. The marching band was important to me because it let me be creative, work hard, and be part of a team. I’m proud of leading the color guard to some great performances and making sure everyone felt included and supported.
