Bright, hard-working, and kind-hearted senior Hilary Goff will attend Reading Hospital School of Health Science in the fall to pursue a career in neuropsychology. She has been an inspiration here at Bangor, involved with the cheer team, Unified Track, Anxiety Support Group (leader), and much more!
What have been your favorite classes? What did you like about them?
My favorite classes were anatomy and physiology and ceramics. I enjoyed anatomy because Mr. Hobbs has such an amazing perspective on healthcare, and a brilliant teaching style. I really understood everything he said, and it made me excited to learn more. I enjoyed ceramics because I had a creative outlet, and the environment felt so free.
What are your plans after high school?
After high school I plan on going to Reading Hospital School of Health Science for nursing. I will do my last year through Alvernia so I can get my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Following that, I want to move to South Carolina to become a developmental disability nurse. Through their hospital, I want to work and use their schooling resources to become a neuropsychologist. Ultimately, I just want to help people.
What is your best high school memory and why?
My best high school memory was creating the bonfire with my friends and walking the homecoming court.
What activities have you done throughout high school?
I was on the cheer team for three years, a member of Unified Track, a National Honors Society member, Anxiety Support group leader, Healthcare Pathways member, coached Girl’s Youth Soccer, and now I am an intern in the special education classroom.
If you could switch lives with any teacher for a day, who would it be and why?
Honestly, I don’t think I could ever be a teacher. I applaud all their patience and hard work but could not imagine being in their shoes.
What is your favorite quote to live by?
The quote I live by is, “Understand that everybody has their own struggles, regardless of whether you can see it or not.” I always try to be kind because even if you cannot see it, everyone is fighting their own demons.
