Creative, thoughtful, and tech-savvy senior Tyler Cutting is heading to the University of Pittsburgh this fall to study computer science. Known for his laid-back attitude and appreciation for both academics and fun, he’s made the most of his high school experience in his own unique way.
What have been your favorite classes? What did you like about them?
My favorite classes were AP Computer Science A and Global Studies Honors. Both were pretty laid-back, and the coursework was straightforward and easy to complete, which made them really enjoyable.
What are your plans after high school?
I’m planning to attend the University of Pittsburgh to study computer science. It’s something I’ve always been interested in, and I’m excited to dive deeper into the field.
What is your best high school memory and why?
Some of my best memories come from watching games and events like volleyball and dodgeball. It was a blast cheering on friends and classmates and just being part of the school spirit.
What activities have you done throughout high school?
I’ve participated in spring Bowling Intramurals every year for all four years. It was a fun way to stay active and spend time with friends outside of class.
If you could switch lives with any teacher for a day, who would it be and why?
I’d definitely switch lives with Mr. Crisp. It would be fun to see what kind of computer knowledge he’s picked up over the years—he’s really experienced and knows so much about tech.
What is your favorite quote to live by?
“Believe you can and you’re halfway there.” It’s a simple reminder that confidence is key, and believing in yourself is the first step to achieving anything.
