Putting their skills to test, the field hockey team dominated 3-1 against former league, district, and state champs Moravian Academy.

With goals by Charlie Paynter, Carly Amerman, and Montana Ott, the team blew past Moravian Academy with quick passes and smart hockey.

“Winning was the best feeling. All the hard work and dedication finally paid off and it just shows a preview of what our team us capable of,” junior midfielder Montana Ott said.

The team practiced different offensive and defensive strategies to prepare for the always-difficult game against Moravian.

“We had a crisp practice the day before we played Moravian; the team worked extremely hard for that game,” senior captain Alyson Kiss said.

The Slaters are now 4-0 in their season, putting them in the cross hairs in the Colonial League.

With their newfound confidence, the field hockey team will continue to prepare themselves for their next big challenge, Southern Lehigh.

Southern Lehigh was Bangor’s biggest rival last season, defeating the Slaters in Colonial League semifinals and District XI championships.
