The Slater football team beat Northern Lehigh 56-27 on Friday, September 8, bringing home their first win of the season. As the clock counted down to zero, the Slater Nation crowd erupted into cheering and singing. Excitement swept across the stands as the boys ran up to the fence and sang the Bangor alma mater.

Standout players from Friday’s game include Garrett DeBoer, who had 184 yards and two touchdowns for the Slaters, Shemar Petrie who also contributed 57 yards and two more touchdowns, and first time scorers David Langdon and Bradley Kane, who brought home 14 points as well.

“The whole team was ecstatic after the win because of all the hard work and dedication we put in for preparation,” junior Jevon Pennix (WR/DB) said. “I feel that there is no greater feeling than winning in front of our entire community at our home field.”

The Slaters will take on Salisbury this Friday, September 15 at Paul Farnan stadium.
