Halloween is the perfect time of year to unlock your inner monster, but what’s a better way to express it instead of screaming, fighting, and crying? Turn your inner monster into a delicious treat!

How to make Gooey Monster Cookies:

Ingredients:

– 1 White Cake Mix Box

– ½ cup of butter, softened

– ½ tsp of vanilla extract

– 1 8oz cream cheese bar, softened

– 1 egg

– Powdered sugar

– Food coloring (I used NEON colors to make them more vibrant)

– Candy eyeballs (I used gum candy eyeballs)

Instructions:

1. Beat butter, vanilla extract, egg, and cream cheese until fluffy. I used a fork, but personally I think using a whisk would have been much easier, and would have made things go a lot faster.

2. Mix in cake mix, then divide the batter into different bowls for the amount of colors you want. Using a variety of colors makes the whole mix of cookies more amusing to little kids.

3. Add food coloring to each individual bowl and mix until combined, experiment with the amount of food coloring to get the specific color you want.

4. Chill for 30 minutes in a refrigerator. You want the batter to be chilled so the cookies can be easier molded and you won’t get as much batter on your hands.

5. Roll into ball and dip into a bowl of powdered sugar.

6. Place on a cookie grease sheet and pat down the batter. If the batter is not pat down cookies will expand too much.

7. Bake at 350 F for 10 to 12 minutes. Keep a constant eye on them so they don’t burn.

8. Press the candy eyeballs into the cookies before they harden, and enjoy while they’re warm!
