The highly successful field hockey team honored Lauren Haffling (center back), Allyson Heard (right forward), Brielle Kiefer-Noguerol (left inner), Alyson Kiss (left forward), Crystal Renaldi (forward), and Tatum Strohe (left back) at senior night as the team suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 loss against Salisbury.

“I loved having everyone come out to watch us play during senior night,” Kiss said. “It was pretty cool to see all of the support I had from my friends and family as they watched me play one of my last games.”

Throughout senior night, the team gave it their all, neck and neck with Salisbury the entire game. As the whistle blew for the end of the second half, the teams were all tied up at 1-1. Playing 7 vs 7 in overtime, the Slaters tried their hardest, but fell short, resulting in a 2-1 loss.

“Even though we lost, I thought we played a great game,” Renaldi said. “We had a hard time getting shots in the cage, which is the most important part. We fought hard and tried our best, Salisbury just found the goal before we did.”

Although the regular field hockey season has come to an end with a record of 15-3, the seniors are ready to make the most of their post-season as they prepare for districts.
