Aubrey Tarr, Editor

Salutatorian Cayla Stiles has led an eventful high school career as president of German Honor Society and as an active band member. She plans to study at Wilkes University and major in biology, with hopes of eventually going to med-school and becoming a doctor.

What three adjectives would your friends use to describe you?

Smart I guess, ambitious, funny.

What sports, clubs, organizations, jobs do you have and what are your positions in each of these activities?

I’m in band, I play the trombone. I’m also president of the German Honor Society.

Which friend or friends will you miss most from Bangor and why?

There’s so many people I’ll miss, it’s kind of hard to list, but I guess for these purposes I’ll say Heather, Brooklyn, Katelynn, and Aubrey. We’ve all been friends for years, and things are definitely going to be really weird and difficult without seeing them every day.

Which teacher influenced you most or who will you remember most from Bangor and why?

Probably Frau Hannan or Mrs. Brown. I’ve had multiple classes with both of them, and I feel like I can always look to them if I need help with anything.

What is your best high school memory and why?

I guess band camp every year. The last few days are always really fun and we have water balloon fights, and then dump all of the water on Mr. Hahn. Or literally any football or basketball game in the stands with the band.

Which band could play the soundtrack to your high school career and why?

Probably Green Day, I’m only really saying this because they’re my favorite band, but I can kinda see it.

If there were a movie made about your high school days, which actor would play your part and why?

My brother said Ryan Stiles because we have the same last name, but I was thinking Aubrey Plaza because I think she would make me seem funnier than I actually am.

When you arrive at school in the morning, where is the first place you want to go and why?

Band room because that’s where I park my car. Also I just love being around my friends and band family.

Where do you predict you’ll end up ten years from now and why?

Hopefully I’ll be a doctor or something like that, but med-school isn’t easy to get into so who knows.

Which event, events will you miss the most and why?

Mostly anything band related. I’ll miss the games, the competitions, the parades, but not the marching band rehearsals because those were pretty tiring. Band has always just felt like home to me, and I’m really going to miss the family I made, as well as the mentors.

Do you have a favorite quote?

I don’t really have one, I kinda just do what I do.

What inspires you to be creative?

Nature and the people around me.

How do you feel about technology?

I mean, it’s really useful. I watch a lot of Netflix now. I finished a 15 season show in less than 4 weeks.

What is your favorite pastime and why?

I just like spending time with my friends, which is something I can’t really do right now, and I miss it. I really just want to go to the mall and waste my money on things I don’t need.

If you could go anywhere, where would it be and why?

Right now, I would literally want to travel anywhere, even if it’s just to target. But I would always love to go to Germany again, it’s so beautiful and the culture is amazing.
