Brooklyn Werkheiser is an avid history enthusiast and aspiring guitarist. After four years of being an excellent student, she will attend East Stroudsburg University to major in history with a concentration in secondary education, with the intention of becoming a history teacher.

What three adjectives would your friends use to describe you?

Hard-working, confident, entertaining

What sports, clubs, organizations, jobs do you have and what are your positions in each of these activities?

I have been a member of French Honor Society, and President for my senior year. I work at a childcare facility, and play guitar and viola in my free time.

What’s next for you? 

I am attending East Stroudsburg University.

What are you studying? 

I am majoring in history with a concentration in secondary education.

Which friend or friends will you miss most from Bangor and why?

My closest friends Aubrey Tarr, Cayla Stiles, Heather Heath, and Katelynn Roscioli. They have stood by my side for such a long time and I am forever grateful to know them.

Which teacher influenced you most or who will you remember most from Bangor and why?

Dr. Martinez has influenced me and will continue to influence me as she has showed me what a great teacher is and has inspired me to join the education field. She is extremely caring, encouraging, and understanding, and I never had a bad day in her class.

What is your best high school memory and why?

Going to the homecoming dance my senior year was very exciting because it was one of the few times I went to a school event and I had a great time with my friends.

What is your worst high school memory and why?

The entirety of geometry.

Which band could play the soundtrack to your high school career and why?

Probably Green Day because they’re one of my favorites and I would listen to them on the bus with my friend.

If there were a movie made about your high school days, which actor would play your part and why?

Andy Samberg or George Mackay; there is no reason behind this, simply my preference.

When you arrive at school in the morning, where is the first place you want to go and why?

The theater lobby, to see my friends before the day starts.

Where do you predict you’ll end up ten years from now and why?

Hopefully with a stable job as a history teacher, considering that’s what I’m going to college for.

Which event, events will you miss the most and why?

I will miss the Lip Sync contest as so many students got into it and gave great performances.

What is your favorite quote to live by and why?

“To love oneself is the beginning of a life-long romance.” —Oscar Wilde; I believe that self-love is very important and people need to be reminded of it from time to time.

What is your favorite thing about history?

Studying history allows me to look into different cultures and identities around the world. I love being able to tell stories about past events.

What is your favorite thing to read about?

Either historical fiction or nonfiction.

What is your favorite hobby and why?

Music or language-learning. I like spending time on my own to learn something new.

If you could travel anywhere, where would it be and why?

I would travel to Norway or France because I am learning both Norwegian and French.
