Emma Naysmith, Editor in Chief

How many years have you been a Bangor Slater?
I’ve been a Bangor slater basically my whole life. From kindergarten to the end of high school.

Where do you plan to attend college and what will you be studying? What do you want to do as a future career?
I am attending Bucknell University in the fall and I am going to be majoring in English. I plan on becoming a writer or working at a publishing company.

List the sports, activities, clubs, etc. you did while you were at Bangor High School.
I played tennis for all 4 years and I was captain my senior year. I managed the boys tennis team for all 4 years as well. I also participated in Leo Club.

What three positive words would your friends use to describe you?
Humble, kindhearted, and selfless.

Who will you remember most in Bangor and why?
I created great relationships with most of my teachers and I will remember them all, but Mr. Arnhold introduced me to astronomy which is something I am becoming extremely passionate about. His passion for it has really rubbed off on me because I can’t get enough of learning about the constellations and new discoveries. If I ever start writing articles on astronomy, I have him to thank for that.

What is your best high school memory and why?
My junior year I had two great gym classes that were filled with hilarious people. Mrs. Lobb always put up with my dancing and everyone had a great time.

What is your worst high school memory and why?
When we got our bathroom privileges taken away. That really ticked me off.

Which band could play the soundtrack to your high school career and why?
Obviously One Direction. First of all, I was a Directioner since 2010, and all though Harry Styles is the love of my life, I am a Niall girl at heart. Second of all, the boys just always wanted to have a good time and have some laughs. That’s literally me. Also if I ever had my AirPods in I was definitely listening to some 1D hype songs.

If there were a movie or TV show made about your high school days, which actor would play your part and why?
As long as Harry Styles plays my love interest, I really don’t care which actress plays me.

When you arrive at school in the morning, where is the first place you want to go and why?
Go home. Just kidding. I usually just go to my first block class and rest my eyes for a bit, or if I have time I go and see some of my old teachers and talk to them.

Who influenced you most during high school and why?
Definitely my friends and my brothers. My friends were always there to support and encourage and I’m so grateful for them. My brothers reassured me that everything will workout in the end and the most I can do is just try.

Where do you predict you’ll end up ten years from now and why?
I hope I’m either a writer or a publisher. I definitely want to be far away. It’d be really cool if end up in London or anywhere in Europe, really. I’d love to live in Oregon at some point. It’s honestly hard to tell where I’ll end up because I want to live so many lives in one lifetime and I always chase the Dopamine.

Which event, events will you miss the most and why?
The pep rallies, the bon fires, the rivalry football games, and every basketball game for sure.

What is your favorite quote to live by and why?
“If you are happy doing what you are doing nobody can tell you that you’re not successful,” saidd Harry Styles, remember that when you’re deciding on a college or what you want to do and someone gets in the way of your decision.
