LET’S GOOOOO! Dan Heald leads the Slater basketball team before a crucial matchup. Heald was a 2021-2022 captain.

Alexis Zamorsky, Reporter

Dan Heald has showed that he bleeds Slater maroon by being captain of the varsity basketball team, one of the Quarry Crew leaders, and participating in baseball, cross country, basketball, and track. His standout classes of robotics, video production, and English had also played a good part to Heald’s success. He plans to attend NCC for Business Administration.

Who will you remember most in Bangor and why?

Out of all the people I will remember most in Bangor, it would be Brayden Strohe, Lauren Blackwell, and Myles Dutt. I spend pretty much all my time with these three amazing people and I’ll never forget all the memories we have together.

What is your best high school memory and why?

I think my best high school memory is holding up the trophy with CJ Miles and Gabe Zeiba after winning the Colonial League Championship. I remember when I was in middle school dreaming I could be in the position to do that, and God made it happen, so that was a cool experience for me.

What is your worst high school memory and why?

My worst high school memory is probably losing to Palmerton in my senior year of basketball. If we won, we would’ve been in the playoffs, and we would have had to play Wilson who we had already previously beat at our home court and a Brendan Boyle-less Notre Dame to be in the championship. But instead, one of the worst players on their team shot the ball with 0.4 seconds remaining and hit a miracle shot that ended our season.

If there were a movie made about your high school days, which actor would play your part and why?

Definitely Logan Paul since a lot of people hate on him and he is a very controversial person who, like everyone, makes mistakes. But since he’s a popular person, everyone pays that much more attention to everything he does. People always talk about the mistakes he’s made rather than the steps forward he’s taken to improve himself and overcome those mistakes.

Who influenced you the most during high school and why?

I influenced myself the most because for these four years, the main thing that has kept me going was me. My inner drive to succeed made me who I am.

Describe what you hope your life will be like in 10 years.

I hope to be living in a luxury apartment with a small family working in the business industry. And vacations-lots of traveling and vacations.

Which event, events will you miss most at Bangor and why?

The events I will miss most are the bonfires and the Bangor vs Pen Argyl games. That’s the best time to be a Slater because everyone drops their problems with each other and starts problems with Pen Argyl people.

What is your favorite quote to live by and why?

“Dreams are worth nothing if you just leave them on a pillow” because that quote pushes me to put the work in to get where I wan to be in life.

What has been your biggest lesson you’ve learned throughout your time in high school?

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that you really need to prioritize your future. Meaning, you need to have a plan or idea of where you wan to go in life and how. Then you must make sure you cater to that plan and dedicate your time to schooling.

Since you work at Dunkin, if you were to make me any Dunkin drink right now, what would it be?

Without a doubt it has got to be a coconut caramel iced latte with 3 pumps of liquid sugar. Top 5 drink in my book.

Of all the games you’ve been the Quarry Crew leader for, what has been your most memorable moment?

The most memorable moment I’ve had as a Quarry Crew leader was when I made the mistake of letting the entire Quarry Crew walk over to the Pen Argyl student section when we destroyed them this year to 53-0. It ended—not so good, since I got myself into trouble with some teachers.
