After taking all the French courses and having first honors nearly all through high school, Julie Battaglia aims to attend Millersville University to major in French and psychology.

As of completing all the French courses Bangor has to offer, Battaglia is not surprisingly the President of the French Honors Society. She is also a member of SGA and the Senior class cabinet.

“I have done a lot of volunteering within the French Honors Society and I love helping the community,” Battaglia said.

Upon entering college, Battaglia hopes to join a variety of clubs.

“I’m excited for the new beginning that college has to offer into truly discovering myself,” Battaglia said.

When that times comes, Battaglia looks forward to studying abroad in France and traveling across the world to help others. Going to France, she’s excited to learn more about the culture to learn new things.

“Julie is a dedicated and serious student who participated a lot and had a true desire to learn the language,” teacher Dr. Martinez said. “I expect she will do great in college, studying abroad in France and doing big things.”

After college, Battaglia hopes to be a school psychologist to help the kids with special needs. Always having a desire to help, she has had a soft spot for helping others, leading her to help in the Special Olympics. By being in the program, she helps the students in gym to get them active and look to the activities with enthusiasm.

“Julie encourages the students with disabilities and gives them motivation in their activities,” physical education teacher Hopstetter said. “She’s always smiling and upbeat with a positive outlook on everything, along with a strong work ethic.”

With this awesome personality, Battaglia has a great future ahead of her.
