Dominating on the football field, maxing out in the weight room, or cracking jokes in the hallway, senior Brandon Nemeth can always be found brightening the day of the members of Bangor High School.

Six years ago, Nemeth’s mother forced him to play football, and he has been thanking her ever since.

The excellent coaching staff and supportive teammates helped develop the passion Nemeth’s carried ever since.

Over the years, Nemeth has impressed the Slater Nation by being a two-year varsity captain, earning Lineman of the Year and the Spring Slate Award in 2016, and the Coaches Award in 2017.

“Football has taught me discipline, perseverance, and leadership because I learned to put all my time to the program and becoming a natural leader,” Nemeth said.

With as much game experience as Nemeth has, it is hard to pinpoint just one definitive moment, but one game seems to stand out in his mind.

“My favorite memory is when I got my first sack my junior year against Northwestern Lehigh. Big guys like myself don’t usually get sacks, so it was a very special occasion for me,” Nemeth said.

Nemeth’s determination and heart have earned him the respect of his teammates, creating a bond that can’t be broken.

“Brandon is a great friend and a great leader. He and I have worked out in the offseason and he is one of the hardest workers I’ve ever been around or seen,” junior co-captain Seth Diorio said.

When Nemeth isn’t making game-winning sacks on the field, he’s bettering himself for the season/game to come at Iron Core.

“Iron Core helped me get a lot stronger and more conditioned during the offseason and kept me in shape. I would go in three days a week and was pushed to my limit for an hour really got me physically and mentally tough,” Nemeth said.

Nemeth holds impressive personal bests with a 365-pound bench press, 465-pound squat, and a 615-pound trap bar deadlift.

“I pushed myself physically and mentally there every session. I would set my physical goals before I started and worked until I achieved them,” Nemeth said.

With his senior football career flying by, Nemeth begins to think about his future.

“I want to major in accounting at a four-year university like Bloomsburg, Moravian, Kings, or Albright,” Nemeth said. “I would also love to play college football.”

Wherever Nemeth goes, it is safe to say he will greatly impact the lives of those he meets and will continue to make the Slater Nation proud.
