Kind, reliable, and responsible, Bangor Area High School senior Arrow Burton has spent high school embracing creativity, music, and meaningful friendships. Through choir, PRISM, and writing, Burton has found ways to express individuality while building a future centered around art and storytelling.

What activities (sports, clubs, jobs) have you been involved in during high school?

I was part of Avedium my freshman year, but I was part of choir and PRISM all four years of high school, and I’m part of Lit Mag.

What are your plans after high school (college, career, military, etc.)?

I plan to be a writer and painter, working at a bookstore full-time.

What activity has meant the most to you and why?

Choir has meant the most to me because music has always been a huge part of my life, and choir was always a way to express that.

Describe a specific moment or memory from that activity.

This year, for our last concert, we sang the song we always sing for the seniors, and I was hit with a lot of emotions from realizing this was my last concert with my friends and in general.

What is one challenge you faced and how did you handle it?

I used to get bullied a lot, and I faced it by not letting people get to me, and I grew more confident through the years.

What is your best high school memory and why?

My best high school memory was when I met my best friend. It was during a PRISM meeting, and we hit it off immediately and have been inseparable ever since.

If a movie were made about your life, what would it be called and who would play you? Why?

I feel the movie would be called The Flower Flight because I grew into myself, and I enjoy more whimsical things and that it would have a whimsical soundtrack to go with it. I feel Emma Myers would play me because I feel she could match my energy, and she kinda looks like me.

Who is someone who had a big impact on you and why?

Alice Oseman made a big impact on me because she wrote my favorite book, Solitaire, which made a huge impact on my life.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I see myself having a published book, living in a small house with a garden and having a few cats, spending my days painting.
