Kind, outgoing, and funny, Bangor Area High School senior Jocelyn Werner has built her high school experience around leadership, school spirit, and strong friendships. Through cheerleading, choir, and multiple student organizations, Werner has stayed heavily involved while preparing for a future in education.
What activities (sports, clubs, jobs) have you been involved in during high school?
National Honor Society, cheer, SGA, Ecology Club, Future Educators Club, Class Cabinet, School Board Representative, and Slater Chorale.
What are your plans after high school (college, career, military, etc.)?
College — Millersville University to study elementary education.
What activity has meant the most to you and why?
Cheer and Slater Chorale, where I made a lot of my closest friends.
Describe a specific moment or memory from that activity.
Cheer: Going to cheer camp and getting to have a three-day sleepover all together. Slater Chorale: Going on trips to sing!
What is one challenge you faced and how did you handle it?
One challenge in cheer that I faced was when my flyer in my stunt group got hurt right before states, and we all handled it by switching stunt groups and working hard.
What is your best high school memory and why?
I enjoy all my memories here!!
Who is someone who had a big impact on you and why?
I think I’ve had equal impacts from my mom and teachers!
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I see myself working in a school with young kids and having a family of my own!!
